The company started its activity in the 70’s of the last century, when Aquilino Finocchio decided to take up his grandfather’s business idea. He began the honey production with only 35 hives helped by his wife Elisa Carbonetti. He soon handed down his passion to his son Luca, who since then has been devoting his life to beekeeping. The mechanization of the company was made in 1987, when Luca visited some French beekeeping companies thanks to the Italian association Aapi (Associazione Apicoltori Professionisti Italiani).

The radical renewal of the production system dates back to 1995, when Luca installed a semi-automatic chain for honey extraction, turned closed floor beehives into open mesh floor beehives and palletized the hives.
Nowadays, Apicoltura Luca Finocchio is a leading-edge company.

Modern machinery for honey processing represent the flagship of the factory which has been renovated in 2013: next to honey extraction area there are the store and the corporate offices, and not far there are the educational farm premises which offer an enthralling experience for guests of all ages.
